A restore is a start.
Recovery is the test.
A database restore was only the beginning. The real question: could people open their attachments and generate their reports?
Attachments restored. Reports verified.
Read the recovery case
- Context & challenge
- A business ERP needed a recovery environment that preserved files and real application behavior, beyond a restored database.
- My role & decisions
- I worked on the recovery validation: database-to-file checks, bounded file synchronization, sampled checksums and authenticated application tests.
- Validation & outcome
- Missing files were repaired. Attachment downloads and generated PDF reports were verified in isolation. The tested recovery baseline became usable; production failover was a separate, unperformed step.
Recorded checks, 21 October 2026: all 64 sampled checksums matched; authenticated attachment downloads and PDF report requests returned HTTP 200. These results describe the tested recovery baseline, not complete historical recovery or production failover. Client and infrastructure details withheld.
